Hi, for give me if things are little offtopic.
but need some hardware advice an tought of you guys.
( and maybe some software advice )
First what im going to make.
( software )
Debian/ubuntu server ( target is debian wheezy with xmbc +PVR, i recompile from ubunto to debian if needed )
Wil run 64Bit
kernel 3.x.x
spotweb + sabnzb++ ( + apache, needed for spotweb )
samba ( wil be 3.5.11 of 3.6.x )
mail server ( Postfix + zarafa ) only 2 users ( zarafa is exchange like and free for 3 users ) i use zarafa at my company with 120+ users and i realy like it..
backup server. ( undefined, but only win 7 pcs will backup to storage ) Advice ?
sync server ( RSYNC ) used for syncing my music ( and optional movies ) to remote locations, mainly music
VPN ( optional VPN, but my router is doing that for me )
( all of de above software is in ubuntu or debian tree.)
logitechmediacenter ( old squeezebox server ) for playing music ( controleable with iphone or android phone )
XBMC for the music/movie/picture on tv.
Remote, i have a logitech harmonie 300.
Need advice on IR USB, with harmonie support and xmbc support.
connected throug HDMI with yamaha RX-V367 amplifier.
hardware for the HTPC (and nas )
Case: silverstone GD06 ( or GD04/05 )
Mainb+CPU = E350M1/USB3 (AMD A50M (Hudson-M1))
RAM = 2 x 4 GB DDR3-1066 ( 7-7-7-20 ) ( 8GB, but 6 GB for ramdisk ) 2 GB OS
DVD Drive = Slim device, with Lian Li EX-553B 5.25 to 3.5 or 2.5 plus Slim Optical Drive ( i need a extra 2.5" option )
SSD = OZC Agility3, 60GB. ( OS / Folder Cache like tumbnails )
Storage = 2 x 3TB ( 2TB movies/1TB music ) raid 1 ( software raid )
(Optional, 2 x 3TB extra drives, if first set if full )
powersupply ? need advice, how about the amount of wattage. 200-300watt?
and IR extenders, so everything going inside a TV Case ( do you write case ) in dutch kast
and later on optional, if my tv provider (upc) supports it, USB CI+ Module
So nice project..
what i like to know, are there people using this case and how is the temp.
CPU Fan, Case Fans, which are prefferred.
which USB IR recievere, compatible with the harmoni.
I'll document my project, so others can do this also.
Debian wheezy on the mainboard/cpu is no problem, did 1 setup with above already but only the nas part. ( samba, debian, spotweb )
I've read already a lot, so the os part,xbmc shouldn't be a problem.
