Video lag
#1
Hi guys,

I was using windows xp sp3 with the latest nightly... Had a bit of video lag so I thought an upgrade to win 7 was in order and now it's worse.

Now hesitates before playing movie (blank screen) Also when movie is ended also mouse is sluggish on screen

Intel dg45id board (using hdmi out)
3gb ram
Intel core 2 duo 3.0

I can upgrade the ram but will this be effective. Smile

Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging, and restart XBMC then wait a minute or two for all the startup tasks to finish. Now play a film for a minute or two then stop it and close XBMC.

Open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

In System settings, System, Video output disable the setting "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" and see if this helps.

The Intel® G45/G43 Express Chipset is a weak point. I would look for a cheap NVIDIA card like a G210.
