Hi, I was contemplating getting an old ATv1 with the broadcom addin card to watch 1080p and was wondering if this setup would also support 3D through hdmi. I've seen 3D comes in half res SBS which I'm guessig it would manage being the same res but will it manage full res SBS at 3840x1080p? Thanks

Rats. Do you know if the atv2 would stand any better chance? Or anything else cheeper than an ion 3d that would achieve this?

ATV2 has a max output of 720 (will decode 1080, but output only 720). The Hardware forums might have some advice for 3D hardware, though:
