Hello,
is LIRC on Ubuntu 11.10 working with the original xbox remote?
I didnt get it working a year back and before I upgrade from 10.04 i wanna be
sure it works. anyone tried that?

I will let you know once I can get into XBMC. My rebuild has been completed and I've got LIRC up and running and all my previously working config files in place. I'm running XBMC unstable pre-Eden and there is an issue at the moment where XBMC keeps crashing at boot trying to load the audio mixer. Once I get past that I should be able to confirm for you.

I finally gave up on the old Xbox remote and opted for an internal RC6 receiver that (for the most part) works out of the box with 10.04 and 11.10. Surprisingly works with Openelec as well. If you can't find a solution for the old Xbox remote, the remote set from HD-Plex is a good replacement. Been testing it for about a week now on various setups. Wish I could have kept my old remote setup though. Liked it for it's simplistic nature.
