Cannot connect to a network drive
#1
After searching for 2 hours in the forum, I only found a few (very old) responses and irrelevant to my problem today.

My question is simple: Why can't I use a networked drive in my home network in XBMC ? It's a WD Passport and fully accessible through Lion, VLC plays the content fine.
XBMC does not even let me connect to this drive.

What is the magic to get this working ?

What did you try so far? How do you connect to it from lion. Do you know which sharing protocol it provides? (ftp, samba, afp, dav, whatever)

I connect to the WD using Finder, it is in there as a Shared Device.
When I click on it, it asks me for the password and I get full access to it.
I do not even SEE it in XBMC.
Not sure what protocol it used in finder, I assume SMB Huh
Again not sure about that.
