Newbie here. Just installed a new 2T hard drive in main PC, and want to share it with XBMC, I turned on sharing from within the Windows 7 operating system for that drive, but when i Browse for it from XBMC, it wants a username and password, i did not have that issue when i linked XBMC to me NAS. Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry Iam using german Windows so I dont really know the actual names.

Network and Sharingcenter->Advanced sharing settings (on the left side)
deactivate pw protected sharing and check other options but I think everything else should be ok by default.

Right click your folde -> properties->sharing->advanced sharing:
check the box
click priviliges (left button above OK)
click "everyone" check every box in the first column.
OK
OK

Edit
Add
type in: everyone
OK
check all boxes again
OK

That should do it.
You have shared the folder and gave everyone in the network fullacces.
