I love xbmc! But as expected, I want more.

I'd like to play performous on my HTPC and for a moment I thought I could run it as an external program on the programs section. That would have been great but that's okay sin xbmc rocks.

I have two other alternatives:

1. Install Ubuntu and xbmc on it instead of xbmc live (that I have now).
The problems are that the unstable (the only xmbc available for installation) does not play mp4, and lightdm insists on using a resolution not supported by my lcd.

2. Install two distros: xmbc live and Ubuntu, and boot on ubuntu when I want performous and other games.

I'll go for 2) right now but I think performous is a cool add-on to any home entertainment center, and of course other games too!

The new XBMC Live for XBMC v11 has been changed to XBMCBuntu (best of both worlds). You could give that a spin: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/releases/XBMCbuntu/
