Additional storage question
#1
I currently have 2 clients running gbit and a separate whs2011 box with a 6tb raid 5 array running in it, also connected to my internal lan at gbit. It has come time to add some additional storage. The whs box only runs sab/sickbeard/mysql for the xbmc clients.

My first inclination is to get a usb 3.0 card for the server and find a 5 bay jbod or raid enclosure for additional storage. Is there any additional reason to look for a NAS solution or will this work as efficiently for distributing files for the xbmc clients?

Should be fine but wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to just buy a bigger case and sata card to keep everything in 1 box?

The case doesn't have any additional room.
