Do you turn off your ATV2 after use?

Hi,

I've always unplugged the power for the ATV2 when I'm finished watching. But is that a good idea, should I turn it off another way?

No. I sometimes exit xbmc but I never switch the box off.

Not intentionally, but one of my harmony remotes runs a long Menu press when I power off my activity and if XBMC is on the home screen it will exit.

For some stupid reason, the harmony won't remember the command to not power off the ATV.

This is not a power off, it's just switching of the white light and (kind of) shutting down the HDMI port.

My ATV2 is controlled by a Belkin Conserve Smart AV. So when I turn on my Denon AVR, it turns on. I switch the AVR off, it goes off.

It controls several other devices too.

If you physically power off the ATV2, remember to exit XBMC before doing so. Corrupted DBs and other bad things can happen when XBMC crash-exist or powers off while in XBMC.

Only if you quit XBMC though, and sleep doesn't really do anything.

I leave mine on constantly, sometimes in XBMC, sometimes on Frontrow but it just stays on. Too much hassle turning it off all the time as it has to be via the plug.
