Linux ExternalDrive Permissions Lock..?
#1
weird story. this happened a couple times.

using xbmcbuntu with a torrent client. all my downloads go onto an external drive directly. no problems with playback or anything at all. the computer stays on all the time so i can seed.

out of nowhere all the files start getting rejected one by one with a "permission denied" error. when i go into the terminal to see about fixing the permissions, i can't get into the /mount/drivename folder to even look at the files.

i did everything i could think of, but the only thing that's worked so far is rebooting the computer, turning off the external drive before POST, and then reconnecting it after the UI loads up completely.

i got some advice about doing a mount -o remount,rw /media/drivename ... but i have yet to try it. i'm kind of anticipating this all happening again.

so, question is... is this a bug with XBMCbuntu? or maybe just something with the -buntu OS?
Any ideas?
