dual monitors cloned fullscreen disables one monitor
#1
I have an xorg install, where I have two screens displaying the same thing at different resolutions and refresh rates using absolute positioning and nvidia twinview.
Previously xbmc ran on this in fullscreen or standalone displaying the same thing on two monitors, but I could not alter the resolution or refresh rate in system - settings.
Now when xbmc goes into fullscreen or I start it standalone it's disabling one of the screens and allowing me to adjust the refresh rate. I'm trying to get it back to displaying on both screens and I'm running out of ideas. Any insight would be much appreciated.

First let me re-frame the question:
Optimally I'd like to start xbmc in fullscreen / standalone without it taking control of the video settings. Is there some way to have it just fill the screen provided for it by xorg?
SOLVED (not really)
I've switched the xorg config over to Xinerama instead of twinview this seems to defeat xbmc's control. I'd still like to know how to just make xbmc do as I tell it in the xorg.conf.
