Hey tolriq, the only reason why I don't use Yatse, I'd because of the way it looks.
Would it be possible to make a skin which looks like the "official" xbmc app?

Well with the unlocker there's a black theme perhaps better for you.

But personally I find the official remote awful it was the main reason of starting Yatse in first Smile so until the skinning engine permit full user contributions there won't be such skin.

I've uploaded a new apk that may fix that error and also has the following fixes

* Fixed getting compilation artists

Hi Tom,

I'm just wondering why there is so much differences between Eden (v11) and v12 (I'm currently running v12 alpha 5 on OSX) regarding Artist Compilation.
Now the "Compilation" category is back again in XBMC (very good thing) but the content of this category is somewhat surprising because they are many Albums presented in this category that are not part of a compilation.

Eden v11 was building this list differently. May be different criteria are used to build it ?

I have done a little bit of development on the remote in the past but got too busy at work to carry on.
The developers had stopped work on the official app but were working on a brand new one based on Json and it looks like there is still activity on it.
https://github.com/freezy/android-xbmcremote-sandbox

Might be better off everyone focussing their efforts on that one as it was a much better design. Had a database held on the phone to speed things up. I believe Json was working. Try asking Freezy.

Good luck. I will help when I get time!

Would be really nice to get a working release. Also offline db would be nice so you can check movies/shows without your pc running.

Tom. release should work ok.

For offline DB I suggest you try Yatse Smile

Does Yatse support the latest nightly build?
Reply
For the very very last ones you need 2.7.0 that was just pushed but yes Yatse does support all, starting from Eden.

I've just uploaded a new build (0.10.4) that fixes using http api still to get system info, now that httpapi has been completely removed in xbmc the previous versions won't work with it.

Hi Tom,

I just tried your latest version. I'm getting this error:

I/O Exception (java.io.FileNotFoundException)

http://192.168.2.19:8080/xbmcCmds/xbmcHt...tialdelay)

Im using it on my Raspberry Pi with OpenELEC-RPi.arm-devel-20121016014055-r12089

Never mind, after a few reboots and clearing some cache / deleting some files, the error has gone away.

Thanks for your version of this app!

EDIT: Nevermind below, one more reboot and it worked :S
I cleared the data, uninstalled the old remote. Installed the new remote. Rebooted to recovery and cleared the cache, and then rebooted. Nothing. Still got the error message.

I then powered off, and on again and it worked.
Madness.

Hey, so what exactly did you clear/delete? I've removed the old version and install Tom's new apk 0.10.4 (Thanks Tom :-) but still no dice. I'm still getting the file not found error message.

Cheers,
