Flickering Screen
#1
Hi,

I tried the latest nightly build, the current release (Eden 11.0) and even 10.1. With all three installs I got the same problem. The screen quickly flickers a black background randomly.

I am using a Acer Aspire One Netbook. Here's the log file:

Turning debug on and posting your debug log to http://xbmclogs.com/ and linking with a message will give a lot more information.
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=42708 not much to see in the above. Video is suspect; Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video and try with the dxva2 turned off. Was XBMC ever working properly on this hardware?

Ok Pat,

Turned on Debugging. And pasted the logfile here:
http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=8457

My netbook is brand new. So, I'm assuming it must have the latest drivers.
Not sure what dxva2 is?
Finally, I never tried to get it to work on Windows before. So, no it wasn't working on this hardware for me before.

See if you can run in a windowed mode.. settings>system>video output>display mode>windowed. I suspect not... failing on the gfx http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Supported_hardware Will your videos play with a 3rd party player like VLC or MCP-HC? Should XBMC work fine other than not playing a video, and you wish to continue to use it... external players are allowed.
