I have: Apple TV2

Macbook w/ 0SX 10.7.5

Airport Extreme w/ 7.6.1

Seagate 1 TB

Most of the other posts about sharing a external hard drive connected to an Airport Extreme seem to be dealing with OSX before 10.7.4. Does this matter? I can't seem to get everything to work together. I have installed SMBup on my Mac to share straight from that, but I can't get XBMC on the ATV2 to find the external hard drive. Any thoughts?

I have the same issue. Finally my ATV2 was able to connect to my external drive on the airport extreme through zeroconf, and all appeared to be working fine, but then suddenly it will lose its connection. I can try to zeroconf in again, but it wont see beyond the name of my drive- i get an error message "Operation timed out."

Sometimes it works, but then suddenly the cycle repeats and i get this error message. Does anyone know why this keeps happening and how i can fix it?
