7mc WTV large files fail

Can you try with milhouse build?
If you are able to upload a failing wtv file (I know they are large, but google drive can handle large uploads) then I can test it.

I am installing millhouse as we speak and will give that a try. I will see if I can split a portion of the non working file and upload it. It is over 25 GB.

No luck with milhouse either. I found a 10 GB file that would not play and I am uploading it as we speak. I will post a link as soon as it finishes. It will take a while. I am also copying one of the files to an external hard drive plugged directly into the pi to see if it will play from there to eliminate a network issue.

Just tried playing a file from external hard drive and that fails as well. My file is about 20% up. Will PM you a link when done.

Thanks for the help.

Hmm. File is playing fine for me. Tried with deinterlace on/off, passthrough on/off, dual audio on/off and all those options play.

Can you try renaming .xbmc and restarting xbmc so you are playing with default settings. Any different?
Can you post a log of it failing to play?

I will give it a shot when I get home from work.

Is it the xbmc.log you are looking for?

Yes. Enable debugging in settings first, reboot, play the wtv file then grab xbmc.log.

Okay things are getting weirder I just tried this file again with my remote and it failed. Then I tried playing it using yatse remote and it played fine. So then I went to one of my Olympic recordings which are over 20 GB and they fail. Here is a copy of the log file where this happens.

Which model pi do you have? A or B?

I noticed when playing back very large files, (36GB), my model B has no issue, but on the model A, either freezes or restarts XBMC. Got all the codec licenses installed on both. Nothing showed up in the xbmc.log, but obviously suggestive of the memory difference. This is because all other constants were held the same -- I used the same power supply, swapped out the same SD card between the two, had no overclocking settings enabled, used the same 128MB gpu memory parameter, etc, etc.

It is a model B. I do have it overclocked. I will try it without it overclocked and see what happens. It is acting like it is simply timing out. It tries to load for about 30 seconds and then just stops, no error messages. Is it possible this could be a problem with my windows set up? It is a fairly old setup that I have done lots of learning on. It has had lots of different codecs installed and uninstalled over the last couple of years. I have been thinking of do a clean install but it would be a pain in the arse.

I did manage to reproduce the wtv failure at home where I'm connected through a wifi bridge.

The ffmpeg demuxer has a hard coded 30 second timeout, and that was getting hit in my setup, stopping the wtv file from playing.
I've increased this to 60 seconds, and that allows the wtv to play. This change is in latest miappa raspbmc build:

Still no go for me on the olympic recordings that I have. These seem to be the only ones I am having trouble with though.

How long does it take from pressing play until the working spinner disappears?
Did it return to menu, or play with a blank screen?

It is reaching the end of the 60 second timeout and then the spinner disappears and I am right back at the menu I selected it from. In this case the recorded tv list. I just timed it right at 60 seconds.
