ubuntu 12.10 VAAPI playback broken (debug log attached)
#1
Hello everyone,

I just did a clean install of ubuntu 12.10 and installed xbmc and the vaapi drivers from the default repo's. Whenever i try to play back video with vaapi enabled in xbmc the file selection list remains on-screen, the audio from the video begins playing in the background but no video is ever displayed. All i've done is set unredirect full screen windows in compiz, install xbmc and intel drivers/vaapi. CPU is an i3-2120T.

Here is the log with debugging enabled: http://pastebin.com/wNVkeMkA

vainfo output: http://pastebin.com/5sqQXMyN

Thanks for any help!

I experienced similar issues after after upgrading to ubuntu 12.10 on core i3 with VAAPI.

I just added xmbc-unstable ppa and upgraded to RC3 of xbmc.

All worked fine after that.
