OS X Lost file extensions

A little help please ... I have inadvertently lost all my file extensions on my movies on my external HD. I was attempting to rename files in XBMC and thought I had to delete file extensions so info would show from plug ins.
Is there a clever short cut to this or must I spend an hour or so finding out what they all were ?

Why do you have to remove the file extensions? For a plug in to work, then it´s a crappy plug in. Because you should never remove the file extensions... ^^

Just open up finder and try to remember what´s the file extensions was for all the files. Tongue

Probably one of the renaming tools would work: Supplemental tools/Mac (wiki)
