Hello,
I just built my first HTPC (i3 3225 - ASRock H77 M-ITX) and used formerly popcorn hour c200. Currently I am struggling with the DTS-HD passthrough to my Denon 1909 (currently I have stutterings). In the control panel DTS-HD is not in the list of the supported codecs... I checked also the EDID threads (ATI 5xxxxs) on the avsforum but couldn't find a solution for my setup?! (EDID only for ATI 5xxx possible?)
In XBMC the audio settings are set to WASAPI.
I am using Frodo Beta 1 on Windows 8. Should I create a log?!
Thanks a lot!

Sure I read somewhere that Win8 and intel weren't playing happily together - driver issues I think. May have imagined it but will try and find a link. You could try posting on that thread on avs - although titled and predominently ATI, don't think it is exclusive.
One other thing you might want to try is turning off DXVA2, intel and xbmc aren't a good combination. Though your i3 should be sufficient to render in software, therefore won't need DXVA.

Thanks steelman! I read in a parallel thread that I should uninstall the realteak drivers...(and install intell drivers again) thats my next step! After that I will try your solution.

Shouldn't be an issue if your using intel - if its the 'parallel thread; I think it is, there is much confusion in it. Its only really an issue if you are running ATI (Realtek provide alternative drivers for ATI cards, which don't work as well as the propietary drivers from ATI).

Thanks for your reaction jjd-uk.
I tried to turn off the dvxa in XBMC, but it didnt work. I also checked my windows setting but they all are set correctly and at supported formats all formats seems to be listed. So i guess no EDID issues. My drivers for HD Audio are from AMD and listed as: 7.12.0.7708. The catalyst drivers are up to date.
My specs:
AMD phemon II X4 955
AMD HD6970
windows 7 64 bit
onkyo SR607
No problem playing the file if i dont check DTS Ma in XMBC as supported format.

Just so I'm 100% sure what you're say, DTS-HD appear in the Encoded Formats section of Supported Formats tab?
If so that strange as XBMC is not lisitng it as a compatible format.
Are both Exclusive Mode settings ticked on the Advanced tab for the HDMI properties?

I meant setting the System\Settings\Audio Output format of DTS-HD off, result in a working video (XBMC converts it to regular DTS). With DTS-HD on, extreme video stutter and no sound...
In control-panel\sound I checked both the boxes for exclusive mode.
