I have a nice menu in Eventghost where I´d like to have an option called "resume playback in XBMC".

Is it possible to start XBMC with some sort switch that would not only launch XBMC but also resume the last played file?

a switch? not really, but this might be possible. It should be possible to make XBMC start a smart playlist at startup. I made one that had one rule, "in progress" = "true", and it was ordered by "last played". I limited it to 10 items, then I edited the playlist file in the userdata (wiki)/playlists/ folder in a text editor to make it limited to 1 (since the GUI will only go as low as 10). This seems to work, but it won't resume where I left off in the file. Maybe someone else might know what magic touch we need to get it to resume the video itself, in addition to playing back the last played file.
