video add-ons not working
#1
Hi, I'm new to XMBC. I have a frustrating problem. All video add-ons that I've installed are not working at all. For Icefilms, I've got an error which says: "An error has occured communicating with Icefilms. Check your connection and the Icefilms site." For Youtube add-on, when I clicked any of the options like Youtube Categories or Youtube Top 100 Trailers, no results were found. Some other add-ons I've tried are not also working. Sometimes I've got a script error, plugin error etc. I think, you need the log file with debugging. It is attached. I haven't so much programming info. Please help me to solve these. Also, I'm using Win 7 x64. I've done some research and see many problems in x64 systems.

Here is the link of log file:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

3rd party add-ons are really something the XBMC devs can't control, some like IceFilms are supported outside the repository and you really need to contact the 3rd party developer to straighten these out. Noting 'Australia" in your debug log as the locale, there is a good chance that there is an intermediate controlling the bandwidth and some add-ons are going to be at issue re: content and I would not be surprised to hear of blacklisting or funnelling. I didn't really see any big errors in your log, so you'll have to start leaving your inquiries with the appropriate forums, and limit yourself to one add-on at a time respecting others.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Not only 3rd party addons but also addons coming with XBMC like NBA, Vimeo, Youtube etc. are not working. Why am I getting these script or plugin errors from these addons?

I can only generalize, unless you have a network issue (not the purview of XBMC) or using a proxy. Youtube and Vimeo have gone through many iterations and updates are always coming down the tube, make sure you have the absolute latest version of these add-ons, a currently supported skin (confluence is best) with your XBMC software. Concentrate your energies and efforts on ONE add-on , go to that forum, read the thread and see if the information provided within gives a hint to your experience, if not leave a message and see if the other members can help you out. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=79487
