i am searching for a small, lowpower ARM-based Mediaplayer/Development-Board, which is able to handle 1080p MKV/ISO files over network without stuttering.
Currently, i have an ASUS O!Play Air, which sometimes has problems with 1080p over network (especially higher bitrates, if there is a static (grain) effect (like the HBO Logo at the begin of a movie/episode)). Fast forward e.g. is impossible, which is a limitation of the 100MBit network interface.
Currently, i am trying to run XBMC on a Raspberry Pi (256 MB), but the RPi does not have enough processing power, too. It runs with full turbo mode (1 GHz, doubletime GPU/memory clock), but thats not enough in some situations/files).
The Odroid-Models are very interesting, e.g. the U2 or X2. But afaik there is no hardware-acceleration at the moment, and it seems that no one knows, whether XBMC will run on it sometime in the near future. Allwinner-A10 has the same problem. Odroid-X/U2 would be more future-proof.
Any recommendations ?
