I have searched the forum as well as google & it doesn't look like anyone has had this issue before! Due to a mobo failure I have tried to start again on a new (spare) PC with a fresh Vista install. I have tried to tried to install both Eden & Frodo but both give me the following error;

"C:\Program Files\XBMC\XBMC.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."

I can't add my log because the install hasn't created an XBMC folder in App Data/Roaming. I have tried downloading the Eden & Frodo files again but still the message.

I am running Vista Home Premium on an Acer desktop running am AMD Sempron Processor 3500+ with 2gb of RAM with an NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE Graphics card.

Has anyone got any suggestions other than a fresh install of the OS?

I think this is a Windows error as opposed to an XBMC error. Try this thread for more info.
