i think "ninja porn" is a good name... you'll never know it is sneaking around!

Wink

i think adding some more filtering functions would be good for other things anyway like tv shows or other video types like home movies, funny/humor clips, etc. it would allow more true division and management of the videos vs what i must do today... use 'files' view and navigate the structure.

filtering and views determined by folder structure would be very nice

affini,
yes i agree with you. the problem is that today's my video is designed for movies alone. i do the same thing you do. i keep my tv shows seperate so that they dont get scanned. but, this is completely off topic.

harsh,
this weekend i'll have some time to investigate this. what i'm thinking is any items found in locked bookmarks will be hidden from the display until the bookmark is unlocked from files view. i'm going to focus on getting title view working this way first.

ok. part 1 is completed and committed. movies in locked bookmarks are hidden from title view until the bookmark is unlocked from files view.

i'm working on the other db views but it's gonna take some time. it requires some thought and a decent rewrite of the sql queries for effiency. i could do it the cheap way where toplevel items are not filtered, but i think that defeats the purpose. you wouldnt want "adult" showing up in the genre listing if your porn bookmark is still locked, right? i just added support to genres view. this provides the framework so i can port it into the remaining db views (hopefully later today, or in a day or two.)

kraqh3d,
a bit ot but still in the same vein...

are you still working on revampling the music db to enable pre-defined playlists from pcs?

any thought to adding views in the db for tv shows? this may be a quick "fix" for esisode support until we can get a full db dedicated to tv shows.

thanks

done. my video locked bookmark protection is complete. all db views hide unlocked items.

here's how it works... the db doesnt know anything about bookmarks. it only keeps paths. to work around this issue, i take the path and map it back to a bookmark. this presented a few challenges because bookmarks can overlap. to get around this, when mapping the path back to a bookmark, the longest matching path is picked.

(and i havent actually tested this, but if you scan your bookmarks and then remove a bookmark from your config, those items should be hidden, too, since it wont be able to map the path to an unlocked bookmark.)

i've been thinking about porting this into the music db now. i'm holding off for now because i think it may wind up causing issues with the music db. the music db is already experiencing issues due to its size and the xbox's memory constraints.

affini,
i'm not sure what you mean by "pre-defined playlists from pcs". xbmc cannot handle pc playlists because the path references are wrong from xbmc's point of view. please explain.

and i'm sorry, but adding db views for tv shows is currently not possible. the existing database schema was built for movies. tv shows would really require a new database schema. i wont comment on if and when a "my tv" section will be added.

kraqh3d,
i'm referring to previous discussions we've had about placing a 'playlist' button on the library view.

i create playlists (m3u) on my pc and they can easily be used for the xbox... i just ensure the path is correct when launching from the xbmc.

all i want is to be able to use the library view and also use my precreated playlists without switching views.

i know you had talked about putting a button on the screen but that was like 6 months ago and i'm sure you got to doing other things so it never got done.

ah yeah, i remember. then answer is maybe. the playlists item in library will reference xbmc's playlists location (like the playlists button does in files view.) as long as your playlists wind up in the correct location, then yes, you will be able to access them without switching views. and i believe that a scan may actually copy found playlists into this location.

yeah, i had a son! but i'll start looking at that next. i've been putting that off because its not a quick change.
