I'm noticing a strange sound problem with xbmc 12 rc3 in windows.

When I first load it up I can play mp3's or YouTube videos with sound in 2 channel mode. Then I play a film either in dts or Dolby digital and that will play fine. But then if I stop the film and go and play mp3's or YouTube videos again there is no longer any 2 channel sound ?

I can only get it back by closing xbmc again and running it again.

I tried going back to rc2 and rc1 but get the problem.

So for now I've gone back to xbmc 11 final and that works perfect.

I know the new version deals with audio differently by using wasapi, anyone know what this could be. Or is it a know bug ?

My sound goes via hdmi into an avr amp.

Just got similar issues today. Everything worked perfect for me until today.
No sound from gui, mp3 or any other 2channel audio. DD,DTS, DTS-HD etc works fine.
reboot or reinstall of frodo rc 3 didnt help. I haven't changed anything in my setting either

Stupid me had turned down the volume in xbmc via the remote
