I've been messing around with this for a bit. I currently have cb1.0 setup with crystalhd bcmxxxx15 and anytime i play a video on the hdd, or youtube, or streaming from the mbp, it completely freezes. i cannot ssh into the atv when this happens. when i disable the crystalhd in xbmc everything works fine, mkv's play as choppy as usually.
background: the Apple TV was given to me and it was purchased new and sat in a garage for a bit. when i brought it home the wireless was not detecting any networks at all.(live in apartment complex). i just hooked it up to ethernet and did not think much about it. i ended up ordering the crystalhd card a couple weeks ago and at first when i played a mkv file with the frontrow setup it would freeze like it is now, but i could play any other file fine. i decided to go with cb1 and thought it would solve my problems. still the same except now it cannot play any media at all. i was afraid it was a bad card or my pci-express slot was bad but i looked up the commands everyone was using to see if the card was recognized. i am assuming if it were to be recognized then the slot and card are both good? i tried downgrading the crystalhd driver to 3.6.0 instead of 3.8.0 and it made no difference. any thoughts?
