XBMCbuntu - AMD / Radeon Question
#1
I have xbmcbuntu frodo 12.1 running on a AMD E350. It works fine but, I want to add a Radeon graphics card for better 1080 handling. My questions are
1) once I install the new card (PCI-e) - do I need to reinstall xbmcbuntu?
2) Will xbmcbuntu recognize the card out of the box and install the driver etc. - or will I have to do all that manually?

Help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

If you're going to add a GPU to a Linux setup do yourself a favour and go with Nvidia. GT610, 620, etc...

If you did go Nvidia route best experience I've had is dloading and installing the binary driver right from Nvidia. VDPAU works excellent.
If I helped out pls give me a +

A bunch of XBMC instances, big-ass screen in the basement + a 20TB FreeBSD, ZFS server.

no need to add a Radeon to a Radeon Wink You hardware works fine, you just need the correct xbmc branch:
