headphones not working on MS Surface Pro
#1
Hey Guys,

I have an issue on my Surface Pro running XBMC that I just can't fix. I don't see anyone else on the forums mentioning this issue...

Audio works fine as long as I use DirectSound, however, XBMC does not detect or direct audio through when I connect headphones. All other applications works fine with headphones....

WASAPI doesn't work at all as the sound gets real choppy.

Tried a few versions of XBMC, first 12.1, then some nighly and I just tried again with 12.2. All have the same behavior.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Just a quick temp fix for this one unless someone else has a better solution.

Disable the Speakers Sound device in Playback devices (right click on volume control in desktop mode - Select Playback devices - right click on Speakers and select disable).
If you have head phones plugged in the sound will now work from XBMC
If you want to re-enable your speaker make sure you right click in the Playback devices list and select 'Show Disable Devices'. This will show 'Speakers' in your list again, to enable just right click and click 'enable'.

Hope this helps.
