Is it possible to write an app for the Samsung Smart TV? If yes, what's the requirement? I am happy to try if someone can point me to the right direction.
Yesterday I tried Samsung Allshare, it can find the XBMC on my PC, but the video list is not available to the TV.
I tried Plex and I could play the videos via Allshare. By the way, Plex app doesn't work on my Samsung TV.

davidliu - XBMC itself will not be ported to the Samsung TV and most likely also no app created. We have UPNP for this. But as you have noticed, we don't support UPNP transcoding yet and don't yet have device specific UPNP profiles. Depending on your Samsung's capabilities this might be the issue why you can't browse your movie library nicely via UPNP on your TV yet.

Yes, but Samsung doesn't like supporting the full UPnP A/V standard :(

Marx1 - once we have/support vendor/device specific UPNP profiles (with hacks to get everything working on non-standard implementations) you should see artwork and all, as long as Samsungs UPNP client supports it.

We tried to help you here:

Why not provide the debug logs we asked for two weeks ago, and in that other thread?

Hello. Maybe an alternative is using your smartphone/tablet with Android with Yatse, so you can browse with a very good appealing your librery in xmbc and send the choosen content to the Smart TV.
At this point I have a doubt with this kind of solution, is it possible to stream addon content from XBMC to the Smart TV?.
I hope could help. Thank you very much.

Finding the fact that Plex has a Samsung smartapp and we don't intolerable, I had a look at the SDK.
It looks half-trivial to do really. A smart app is just a javascrip/html app a lot like a webinterface addon (with the notable difference that it has to be driven with a remote).
Playback itself is just passing an url to a specific video player object (not flash, apparently) which handles the rest.
I'll try to do a POC with my (very) limited javascript/html skills to see if it's worth digging further.
