Linux Best backend choice
#16
I would think so, I am not overly familiar with them but I think they have decent CPU and RAM.

My preference for a backend is something that is large enough to contain lots of storage and sits in the cupboard under the stairs where sound and size don't matter so much. But a NUC should easily do the job.

Ok, cool, yea, it has an i3 1.8GHz in it, and I was going to add about 8GB RAM. I was also going to use it for other automation purposes, nothing too strenuous though. Since I already have a FreeNAS box, I dont care how much storage it can hold, because I will just write everything over there... Thanks for the help nickr!
