Been using the same setup successfully for a 18+ months.
ATV2 / Windows Server / Drobo Elite (16TB) / all wired 1G.

Since last week, I have been unable to watch more than 3-4minutes of a local/saved tv show before XBMC pauses and returns to the episode list.

This happened with 12.0 and I upgraded to 12.2 wondering if it would help...same issue.

I've rebooted the ATV2, the server, the Drobo, the HP P2810 switch. Nothing seems to help.

Sorry, I tried looking in the logs and while I saw a line or two - I didn't see anything that clearly stated this is the issue. Hopefully someone can help point me in the right direction.

Note: It can be any TV show. I've tried the same ones that have played back before without issue.

Well either your network is broken or the HDD of your NAS or whatever. At least you get read errors ...

Yeah I was thinking something like that too. Since posting the original question, I tried a few things that were inconclusive.

The ATV2 is wired to the core switch with has the W2012/w Drobo-Elite, a Drobo-FS, a Drobo-5N, and a MyBook.
The ATV2 plays from all of the other devices (above) correctly - except for the server/DE.
---Suggests the issue is there and not necessarily a network issue.
But, the ATV2 plays from the server/DE music videos, etc just fine. It's when playing TV/films that it stops after 3 or so minutes.
I've tried playing back different file types to see if that was a factor. The results were inconclusive.

Now, it should be mentioned I have computers (4) play video from the server/DE without any issues.

I'm not saying it's an XBMC issue. The timing of upgrading my XBMC version and the issue appearing are a coincidence if nothing else.

Frankly, I'm puzzled by how to further troubleshoot this.

Oh- I did after posting, also redo my ATV2. I restored, JB, and did a clean install. I've also swapped network ports on the server (4) and to a different network card all together with no change.

*The Drobo-Elite is a 8 disk box and all diagnostics shows it functioning correctly.

You could try to copy one of those movies locally to the ATV2 and play it from there to rule out network or server.
