How to play files randomly on XBMC
#1
Hi I have a bunch of music videos in a folder. I'd like XBMC to play them randomly. All the music videos are *.mkv format. They are foreign music videos and as a result are not searchable to be added to a library. Is there a way for me to make a playlist out of them and play them randomly? Right now I have to play them one by one from the folder. Thanks!

  1. Use Videos > Files to navigate to and open your music videos folder.
  2. Press "Q" repeatedly to queue each of the video files in that folder.
  3. Open the context menu (keyboard "c" or right mouse click) and select "Now playing...". You'll see your queued video files listed.
  4. Open the slide-out menu on the left and enable the "Shuffle" option. You'll note that the order of your videos has been "randomized".
  5. Again, on the slide-out menu, select "Save" and enter a name for this playlist.
