Maybe trivial but I'm interested.. in which programming language/framework was XBMC GUI written ?
Since it's possible to run it at almost any platform and in Linux, only on X server.

The programming language is C++ but the GUI uses DX / OpenGL / EGL rendering. On Linux GL is provided by the X server.
