linux (ion) vs pivos ?
#1
Hi,

for the last two years I have been using XBMC on my HTPC running on a AT3N7A-I motherboard from Asus.
Everything runs smoothly, 1080p, etc.

However.. I am looking to see if I can possibly 'upgrade' my system to a smaller device.
I have purchased the 1st rpi model when it came out, and wasn't too happy with it's performance...
Now I see that the Pivos Xios ds is available that runs android with video hardware acceleration.

Okay, nice that it works.. but then again, the rpi technically works too.
But what about it's performance?
I have been googling that subject, but can't really find how well it compares to other types of systems.

Disc capacity is not really that important to me, since all media is being stored on my NAS and the locak disc
is only used for the OS and XBMC.

Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction here, and it would be awesome if the Pivos (or other device)
can have the same performance as my current setup.
Or should I just wait another year for new developments in this field?

thanks Smile

It would be a huge down grade in performance.
