Linux Updating library from an external source
#1
Hello,

I currently have this setup:
* A Synology DS410 NAS including Sickbeard, Couchpotato and Sabnzbd+
* An ASUS EB1501 HTPC running XBMCBuntu
* Synology NAS running MySQL for an external XBMC library

My HTPC is only turned on when I want to watch something.
I was wondering if it's possible to force a library update when XBMC is not running.

Sickbeard has an option so force a libvrary update but it has to point to a running XBMC instance to work.
I want to be able to update the library when XBMC is not running.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!
Cheers

You could use a headless Raspberry Pi running OpenELEC and powered by your NAS USB port, then have that handle media library updates as it will be on 24x7. Easiest solution in my mind until a server version of XBMC is supported (assuming this is even on the cards).
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
