MKV playback - Nvidia issues
#1
I just started using XBMC on our laptop a couple of weeks ago and I´m really liking it. However I´m having a little issue with my Nvidia GFX.

Laptob: Pacakard Bell EasyNote TS13HR - CPU: Intel Core i7-2630QM 2 GHz/GFX: Nividia Geforce GT540M/RAM: 8 Gb

Nvidia driver: 331.82

XBMC: Frodo 12.3

I have ripped some blurays with MakeMKV. Playing them without further encoding.

When choosing "Integrated Graphics" in program settings in the Nvida control panel there are no issues.

However when choosing "High-performance Nvidia processor" (GT540M) the problem arises. The display changes to only cover 1/4 of my screen at the top and looks like 4 individual displays.

I have no idea what setting is causing this.

I could just use the Integrated Graphics. However when I have a dedicated GFX, I think it would be optimal to use it.

It seems that your high performance laptop with Nividia Geforce GT540M included Optimus option. Optimus allow you to use Intel iGPU for lesser demand playback and use GT540M for higher demand playback. It'll prolong your battery life. I use Optimus in my Alienware X51, and it work great....

Here is more information on your graphic card- Nividia Geforce GT540M...
>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!
