Hello there.
I'd like to build my first HTPC with some nice storage (one SSD and and least 2 big HDDs).
For what:
- XBMC of course (smooth Full HD video playback)
- file sharing (SMB/FTP)
- uTorrent
- occasionally playing CS:GO with medium details (for more demanding games I have better PC)
- Apache server, PostgreSQL and other low priority services for personal use
What I need:
- this HTPC will run 24/7 so it shouldn't consume a lot of power and should be pretty quiet when idle
- Windows 7
- pretty big case (one SSD, 2 x HDD's and probably some BR player in the future) which will be placed horizontally (can be wide, but not too high)
- Bluetooth, WiFi (IR optional)
WAF:
- Case must be pretty and simple without a lot of LEDs blinking around (it will be placed right under TV in living room)
I like Windows ☆ Build #5 but with some modifications:
CASE: Fractal Design Node 605 - 150$ (180$ in my country) - it is not cheap, but has high WAF. I'm open to other (and cheaper) cases.
PSU: Be-quiet Pure Power L8 350W (60$ in my country) - I've heard that they are pretty silent and I have trust in this company (but I'm open to other options).
CPU/GPU: Intel Core i3-3225 55W / Intel HD 4000 - 140$ (160$ in my country) - I think that it should be enough for my need. Am I right?
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-H77N-WIFI LGA 1155 USB3.0 SATA-III HDMI S/PDIF UEFI - 105$ (115$ in my country) - it is Mini ITX and since my case can handle ATX maybe there are some similar MOBOs with WiFi and Bluetooth in ATX format? (this one has only 2 x SATA3 and 2 x SATA2).
RAM: Crucial 4 GB DDR3-1600 (BLT4G3D1608DT1TX0CEU) - 64$ (55$ in my country) - I have one set in my PC and I like them. Or maybe something different and 2 x 2 GB?
SSD: ADATA XPG SX900 ASX900S3-64GM-C 2.5" 64GB - 90$ (80$ in my country) - anything better in similar price?
HDD: Western Digital Green 3TB 7200rpm 64MB cache SATA600 [WD30EZRX] - 120$ (135$ in my country) - anything better in similar price?
What CPU cooling will fit in this (or different) case to reduce noise?
What do you think about these components? Maybe some of them are simply way too good? What can be changed to reduce price?
I really appreciate your help, thanks.
