Hi to everyone

I'm close on going nuts!!

I have a lot of problems playing movies with xbmc on mac osx. The xbmc often crashes, sometimes rebooting the macmini, sometimes only exiting xbmc. I tried nearly everything, I guess! I tried different xbmc stable builds 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, even actual nightly and monthly builds. I tested different versions of Mountain Lion. I tried different skins, played different movie file formats and I did a clean reinstall of osx. I played (messed?) around with audio and video settings in xbmc and osx. I tested from different network sources like from windows pc (smb) and synology nas (afp). No result, the movies are still stopping and the xbmc is crashing, never at the same point/time of the movie. When I play the same movie which crashed with xbmc, in osx with VLC, everything is fine: no stutter, no stopping, no crash!

It's really frustrating, hope someone can help!

I love xbmc and all you guys are doing a great job!

I made a little step forward: I was testing again to find out the problem and I start to guess that it couldn't be a software issue. So I did a hardware diagnostic check with the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) and it turns out that the test always stops during the memory check with following errors:

I think there must be something wrong with the 16GB memory of my MacMini. I send the device back to the dealer for further tests/diagnostics and will update the thread as soon as possible.

OK, MacMini is back, the memory modules were changed and it seems that the problem is solved. I am still testing playing different movies (different formats) but for now it looks good!
