Dumb down XBMC

Question
I need suggestions to setup Video Folder for 85 year old woman, who never used a computer in her life. I have a folder with a lot of TV shows and I need the easiest way for her to be able within 2-3 clicks to watch videos. What software would you recommend for Windows of how should I modify XBMC for Windows? Price is not an issue. It must be clear interface with no buttons if possible, just pictures of the videos.

I think that is called CableTV, or possibly DirecTV or Dish.

She is already on it and it's not working out. Any other suggestions?

You can use XBMC to do this (display movies & TV shows) with a simple user interface. I suggested the same to a guy who had a disabled son, see

Basically it uses the 're-touched' skin that is pared down to the minimum.

If you are interested and need more info, let me know.

I just noticed that's for Android and I need it to get it working on PC. Any tips please how to modify XBMC for Windows or any other software? Even Linux will be fine, I don't care which OS since I'm setting up a new system for her.

You can use the 're-touched' skin on PCs as well. In fact the images I posted were taken from my PC upstairs that I run with that skin.

You can also tailor most skins to pare down the amount of info shown on the home page, but for someone not used to navigating XBMC I believe that re-touch is more intuitive than others skins. As you can see from the images, the HOME screen can contain just 2 main items, MOVIES and TV SHOWS. Click on MOVIES and you get posters showing all your movies, and click on one of these to play it and something similar for tv shows. What could be simpler?

Just install XBMC with the RE-TOUCHED skin yourself on any spare PC/laptop and see (I'm not suggesting you supply the lady with any old PC you have lying around, just that if you do have one, use it as a test bed for playing around with XBMC before going the whole hog and setting up a more or less dedicated system for her).
