i know you can use a regular pop3 mailbox with xbmc, but gmail doesnt seem to work. i'm guessing it has something to do with the ssl or some kind of security. (just a guess) so, is it possible to see your gmail (or google homepage) in xbmc

afaik you can enable pop3 at your gmail account.

see if there is a python library that will support ssl authentication for pop3

a quick google search rendered a page with this...

the pycrypto python crypto toolkit and the ezpycrypto wrapper layer. sslcrypto is an updated (and much higher performance) version of ezpycrypto.

quick question there, do libraries have to be ported? i have the hl_info library and wasnt sure if you need to port the library as well as the script. (well im guessing platform specific ones would, but if they use another library which has already been ported in the hl_info case, the socket library, would they still need porting?)
