Win No video under Windows 8.1
#1
Hey guys,

This is my first thread so please show some understanding..Well i just upgraded my Vaio vpc-eb1s1e/bj from Windows 7 Ultimate to 8.1 Pro x64. On my previous setup XBMC Frodo 12.2 was working just fine without any problems but now it seems that i can't watch any kind of video. There is only sound and a black screen .

Steps i did so far :

Downloaded every single video codec i found for Windows 8.1 but nothing.
Changed the video playback modes through the settings menu but nothing.

Same problem exists when i try to play a video from WMP . Funny thing is that when i play a video from VLC the video runs smoothly.

Any quick reply would be appreciated,

Thanx guyz !

Sounds like a video driver problem if its WMP as well.

You don't say what files/s and you will need to provide a log as per the FAQ, if you want a better answer.

What happens when you turn off DXVA (hardware acceleration) and try using software only?
