I noticed a post here about receiving unmet dependencies errors when trying to install XBMC.
I too am suffering from this malady with a brand new install of Ubuntu 14.04.
When using the Ubuntu Software Center to install, I receive this message:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xbmc: Depends: xbmc-bin (>= 2:12.3+dfsg1-3ubuntu1) but 2:12.3+dfsg1-3ubuntu1 is to be installed
This error could be caused by required additional software packages which are missing or not installable. Furthermore there could be a conflict between software packages which are not allowed to be installed at the same time.
When using synaptic to attempt the install, I receive this message:
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
E: Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.
E: Unable to correct dependencies
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
