Hi,

I bought an xbmc box, plugged my Ethernet cable from my router into it, plugged my usb hdd into it, but cannot see the hdd from my win7 pc. I tried whatever settings I could find for file transfers etc. I read several threads but they all seemed very involved, or maybe Im inexperienced. Either way, can I get help seeing my hdd from my pc.

You didn't buy an XBMC box, you bought some hardware that has some version or propitiatory version of the XBMC software running on it. The drivers that allow your hardware box to 'see' your USB device is at the root of this situation and needs to be addressed by the maker of said box and is an O/S issue of that hardware..
