My advancedsettings.xml is exactly as described in Post #23 by jjhtpc.

After some hours of testing with SPMC and Live TV with the mentioned configuration (hardware acceleration on, libstagefright on, mediacodec off, mpeg2 with software decoding through advancedsettings.xml), this solution seems to be kind of stable for me. SPMC still quits from time to time when switching channels, but that's something I can live with.
