I have just finished setting up a Mythbuntu box (14.04/.27.4).

I have set up XBMC-KODI 13.2 “Gotham” in Windows 8.1 which I want to use as a FrontEnd. I cannot, however, access the Myth Backend from XBMC. I can access the Mythweb from Chrome or Internet Explorer.

I have the Mythbuntu box set up with a Static IP address and am inputting this to the MythTV app in XBMC. Whenever I click on 'Enable' in XBMC, I get error messages about every 10 sec saying that the server is not available.

I'm not sure if the problem is in the MythTV box or XBMC.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you set up mythtv to allow network connections?

Can you access the backend's mysql from the windows machine?
