Hi guys never had a prob with xbmc untill now a few days ago xbms would not play anything? you click on a file and nothing happens? so all my mkv, avi files in my download folders will not play but a movie file thats in a another folder but still in downloads will play if that makes sense?
any ideas?

is this problem only with content packed into rar files?

No any media files unless they are in another separate folder does not make sense? As I said all has worked fine for years until now?

Your Download folder looks like a real mess. It would be easier if it had subfolder for movies. As a suggestion i would move all zip and rar files out of this folder and see if the movies are playing again. I assume the problem is that XBMC tries to find subtitles for the movie you wanna play and now it looks into each movie in that folder and into each zip file and rar file. This is bad performancewise and might result in the problems you have.
