Building kit for XBMC with Openelc, what else do I need
#1
I'm in Canada, building my first media server and I want to pay for shipping once and I'm ordering from the USA. So don't want to miss anything. I'm starting from scratch. Here's what I'm ordering:

* Crucial 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR3 1600 MT/s PC3-12800 CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory Modules CT2KIT25664BF160B by Crucial

* MyDigitalSSD 128GB (120GB) 50mm Bullet Proof 4 BP4 50mm mSATA Solid State Drive SSD SATA III 6G - MDMS-BP4-120 by MyDigitalSSD

* Intel Network 7260.HMWG WiFi Wireless-AC 7260 H/T Dual Band 2x2 AC+Bluetooth HMC by Intel

* Intel Mini HDMI, SSD, HDD Mini DisplayPort USB 3.0 4th Gen Intel Core i3-4010U Consumer Infrared Sensor NUC Kit BOXD34010WYKH1 Silver with Black Top by Intel

Is there anything else I need? I want to have an IR remote, think this box supports it, but what product do I buy? Want to live-stream TV. Anything else needed?

Thanks

Hi,
I am Canadian too... May I ask why are you buying from US? Newegg and ncix have good deals and they're not the only ones selling at competitive prices...
To come back to your question... You can get away with a Chromebox instead of the Nuc. If all you do is streaming you don't need such a large ssd. You can go OpenELEC on a Chromebox, standalone install for less than $200.

That should be everything

Maybe an after market case for the NUC, if you have some spare cash and care about looks. This is my personal favorite: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...catid=2282
