Commercial skipping with EDL off
#1
I use OpenELEC (5.0 RC1) and recently the older myth pvr plugin that required mysql credentials was discontinued. I'm now using the 1.27 version of the plugin which appears to use the myth API instead of accessing mysql. I've noticed that commercial skipping using the EDL is off now. Previously with the older version of the plugin it was correct. Has anyone else noticed that issue?

Yes they have. Look at the thread on the new pvr.mythtv addon thread.

I assume you mean this:

It sounds like one downside to moving away from a direct login to the backend mysql database and using the services API instead is that the seek/time map isn't accessible. As such, variable framerate recordings may not work well with EDL as I've seen.
