Movies freezing up every 30-45 seconds
#1
I recently decided to rip my entire movie collection to disk and now experiencing the movies I most recently ripped are freezing up every 30-45 seconds. I converted them to MP4 using the AC3 Codec in 5.1. My thoughts lend me to believe that the codec is the issue, possibly overworks the RPi as I have several other movies that work just fine but are in different codecs?!? I have attempted numerous adjustments within XBMC with no luck and I have searched around but not finding anything posted previously that matches what I am seeing. Running the latest stable release of XMBC on the Pi Model B.

Questions:
1) Is there a setting in XBMC that I'm missing?
2) Do I need to buy a codec to correct this?
3) Any recommendations on settings to rip movies? I would like to keep 5.1 audio, not currently using but will be.

Thanks!

-upgrade to Kodi/Helix
-provide a debug log (see the stickies)
-overclock your pi
-use NFS if your media is on a network

Proper 5V/2.0 Amp power supply then Overclock the RPi. Definitely a must do for high bitrate rips.

Ethernet or dual band WiFi instead of single band WiFi.

Turn RSS in XBMC off.
