Me neither. A stock system should not behave in this way, there's got to be something you've installed that you've not mentioned (our forgotten).

Without my transcend USB3 stick, the system won't boot properly!

Get rid of this as its very little speed benefit unless you are either using a very old slow SD card or doing a lot of writes to the SD card. Streaming high bitrate video does not even need huge or fast external storage space anyway.

You have likely read old info from somewhere that was used back in the early days of the RPi, at a time when SD cards were slow and SD card corruption issues were common. All these problems have now been fixed with recent firmware.

As an example, my Overclocked microSDHC / RPi B+ streams Jellyfish test file at 60Mb/s without issues over NFS. 50Mb/s when using SMB.

Try putting a brand new image on to the SD card and use that ONLY without the USB complications your introducing.

Ok, thx for the input , Milhouse and wrxtasy.
The only sofware a had installed was openelec.tv:
Openelec TV
and 5 add-ons:
1- Youtube from Bromix
2- Uitzending gemist ( a Dutch program)
3- RPi config (overclock tool)
4- Log uploader
5- iperf

after a fresh install:
systemctl stop kodi
mv .kodi .kodi.bak
systemctl start kodi

i did the command: top see: (Ok , late at the evening of 10-1-2015 23:39 (Amsterdam)

I will have to by a new micro -sd card, the tiny thing that I'm using now is a class 4 sdhc 8GB without a brand mark.

Do both gentleman have a link which one (brand) I shall choose.?

De software that I'm now using is from the link you suggested (wrxtasy).
The link doesn't work entirely on the site off
http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Instal...spberry_Pi.

Yesterday evening, some peculiar thing happens: the rasp wouldn't play any h264 content any more.

Just put a new Openelec diskimage on the microSDHC card before you go about buying new things.

This is the one you want from Openelec, you will need a PC or Mac to put the image to the card:

http://releases.openelec.tv/OpenELEC-RPi...0.0.img.gz

One step at a time.

I'm not seeing anything, did it make any difference?

Without more detail it's impossible to say why that would happen - check your log for any errors.

I will begin with Mr/ Ms? Milhouse.
I created a log file, the error with h264:
Error h264

The fresh reinstalled kodi. It seems to be, It didn't accomplish what we (I) thought.
The CPU usages still going up to 80% and kodi is doing nothing!

I don't want to give up , why this is happening to my rasp,
I have documented this , how do you call it: bad behaviour of a raspberry!

So I will do what Mr wrxtasy prescribed : a new image , only on my SD card

Code:

Increase this to at least 128 MB. 256 would be ideal.

menakite, RPI config: Turbo (1000MHz) and GPU mem 256

Thus now overclocked by RPi add-on settings Turbo = 1000MHz and rebooting to make changes active.

this seems to be better:
