Google Cast for Audio

Google Cast for Audio allows people to send content to a device (a smart "speaker"): https://www.google.com/cast/audio/

It would be great if Kodi could act as such a Google Cast for Audio endpoint / receiver / speaker. Then, using any of the many Android apps that support Google Cast for Audio, people could send audio to Kodi and have it play it.

Note that this request may be related to the request for full Chromecast receiver support: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=169737

Since there are multiple manufacturers implementing Google Cast for Audio, versus just one for general Chromecast, I'm hoping that Google will release full documentation / a full SDK so others can implement the protocols.

What i'd LOVE is exactly the opposite. Have Kodi cast a movie's audio channels TO an Android device so basically anyone could use their phone/tablet as endpoint ,,, basically "ghetto" high quality wireless headphones.

Its surprising that no one has made one and i wish my coding skills were 1/10th of what would be needed to code one. Yatse had one but it was very laggy because it also casted the video.

But it is also covered in the Cast for Audio speaker part of the sdk probably (hopefully)

An SDK for receiver support is unlikely/never going to come out, as far as I understand it. Receiver support is tightly controlled and closed source (for reasons related to DRM, as I understand it). There are some reverse engineered attempts, after conversation with some Google folks, it looks like Kodi isn't ever going to get an officially supported version. There is a receiver API that uses a Chrome wrapper, but I'm not sure how usable that would be for us.

Sending support is possible, as far as I can tell. But we need coders interested in doing it.
